The video is among one of the most high-concept creations of Adam’s career, as it is set in a dystopian world where everyone is controlled and their way of life is relegated. Could you see a political viewpoint in here? Sure, but where we really think Adam is going with this video thematically is more along the lines of self-repression, and allowing yourself to be open to the life that could be in front of you.
We already know the song itself is a perfect summer anthem, and visually it’s also striking — in particular the dichotomy between the drab grays and muted blues at the start of the video to the vivid colors at the end. It’s something worth watching multiple times just to capture the feel of the entire song, and we hope that this will someone bring “Eyes” the radio airplay fans have been hoping for over the past month. (If there is one thing we are surprised about, it is that this song has not taken off more than it has.)
What do you think about Adam’s video?
