Since “Glee” is not going to be back on the air for several months, we are now going to take a bit of a difference approach with this article and focus on what some of the show’s actors are up to for their summer vacation.
Lea Michele – When it comes to the woman behind Rachel Berry, she’s been in the midst of a homecoming in New York City. She recently saw her friend (and “Glee” guest star) Ricky Martin at a showing of “Evita,” and has caught up with a number of family members and friends.
Following this visit, Lea is now in London preparing for a red carpet at the UK Glamour Awards this week. Stay tuned — we’ll have more information (including any show spoilers if Lea decides to give them up) after the event happens.
Cory Monteith – Lea’s on-screen (and reportedly off-screen) love interest has been doing plenty of traveling of his own, in particular to his hometown of Vancouver to give back to a theatre charity for disadvantaged children in the area.
In speaking about the charity event (and a $50,000 donation provided by Sir Richard Branson), Monteith had this to say:
“I love finding any excuse to come back to Vancouver, especially when I have the opportunity to work with Richard and help at-risk youth.”
As someone who went through a troublesome childhood, it’s easy to see why trying to keep children on the right path is a cause that Cory believes in.
Chris Colfer – Finally, we turn to the birthday boy. Despite turning 22 years old over the week, Chris has managed to win a Golden Globe, score an Emmy nomination, write (and star in) a movie, pen a book, and of course continue his work on the show. Have you done this much in 22 years?
Over the weekend Colfer celebrated the big occasion with a crazy celebration attended by some of his co-stars (including Darren Criss). In a post on his Twitter, he had the following to say about it:
“Thank you to everyone for their birthday wishes!!! I had a Disco-Ninja-Pirate themed party at a Roller Rink.”
Check back all summer, as we’ll have even more updates from the cast!
