Ratings: ‘Harry’s Law’ series finale, ‘NYC 22’ low as Indy 500 dominates

As we said when we posted our review for the “Harry’s Law” series finale, we really feel for the show. Not only is it canceled after being one of NBC’s most-watched shows, but it was preempted a week so that an “America’s Got Talent” repeat could take its place in the May sweeps.
With all of this in mind, it’s really no shocker that the series finale plummeted in the ratings. The show still drew over five million viewers, but its 18-49 number (which is currently estimated as being either a 0.5 or 0.6) marks a new series low for a show that always struggled when it comes to young viewers.
The only other new non-sports programming on Sunday night was a burn-off episode of the already-canceled “NYC 22,” which drew an anemic rating (especially for CBS) of 0.7. The Indy 500 was easily the champion on the night, but we won’t know the margin of victory until the final numbers later in the week.
Were you hoping that “Harry’s” would go out with more of a bang?

For once, you have an actor like Kathy Bates who is extremely well supported by her entourage of well-oiled machine. She does not need the support – she plays her role professionally and the writing never leaves me bored… with even a few surprises interjected. Please do not touch this series…the wit and sarcasm alone, hold its weight in gold. It’s not blood and guts, just good acting all around. DO NOT TOUCH IT!!!
