‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ review: Kourtney’s Kris Jenner drama

The drama escalated this week.

What makes “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” work so much better than all of its various spin-offs is that every week, you really don’t know just what you are going to get. Some times, you have a story based around Kim — and others, you see some other family members clash.

Sunday night’s new episode was really about the latter, as we saw Kourtney try and deal with her mommy issues in a variety of different ways. It was clear that she was still angry with Kris Jenner over cheating on her dad, and judgment of that was causing her to become enraged about her “momager” talking about it fully in the pages of her new book.

What resulted from this was really what can be best described as Kardashian therapy. After visiting a therapist and speaking with Khloe (who is pretty much a therapist in her own right) on Skype, Kourt quickly came to the realization that she was bottling too much of her anger up — which she quickly apologized to a man she has had her fair share of conflict with in Scott Disick. (Of course, Scott took the apology as a chance to pick on her a little bit — should we really be surprised at this point?) She also at least works through her issues with Kris enough for the two to be on good terms again. (Kris at least seemed to handle this confrontation better than she did seeing a spider earlier in the episode.)

As for the other major plot this week, it really just revolved around what happens when you put two teenagers in Kendall and Kylie Jenner in a high-pressure working environment for Seventeen Magazine — conflict is going to happen. Kylie at one point ussed Kendall of sitting down on the job, and it took Kim stepping in (and playing the support role typically occupied by Khloe) to really get to the room of the problem. As it turns out, Kendall is afraid of approaching people and did not know how to express it. Thankfully, there’s no better remedy for fear than being thrown into the situation — she was, and eventually everything seemed to work out fine.

Can you understand Kourtney feeling the way that she does, or did you actually feel a little bit bad for Kris this week?
