Leona Lewis returns to ‘The X Factor’ UK as guest judge

Some mystery remains.

Leona Lewis has found a way to work herself back into the conversation with “The X Factor” in Britain though this time it is in a far different role than win she won the competition back in series 3.

Thanks to a new Twitter post from show judge Gary Barlow, we can now confirm that the “Bleeding Love” singer is going to be one of the replacements for Kelly Rowland during the London of the auditions at the O2 Arena. Rowland announced weeks ago that she was going to be departing the show after just one season, former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell has already filmed a show in Liverpool.

While all of this chaos is going on in Britain when it comes to finding a permanent replacement, the American version of the show is now going strong with both Britney Spears and Demi Lovato on board with L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell as judges. Even with this, though, there is also some uncertainty — it has yet to be announced just who will be the two co-hosts for this show when it returns in the fall. (Dermot O’Leary masterfully hosts the British version.)

Who would you rather see as a permanent judge on “The X Factor” — Geri, or Leona?
