Memorial Day is known for a number of time-honored traditions — honoring our fine men and women of the military, outdoor barbecues, getting that extra time to relax, and of course networks airing a million episodes of the same show throughout the day.
So what are some of the finer things coming on? We’ve got a list of highlights for you here, so you don’t even have to waste too much time channel-surfing to find the perfect programming. (All times listed below are EST.)
“Cake Boss” – Leading up to the show’s season premiere at 9:00 p.m., TLC is going to air episodes of Buddy Valastro and company all day beginning at 6:00 in the morning.
“Deadliest Catch” – Considering this intense reality show is one of Discovery’s most-popular, it should not come as a surprise that the network is running it from 9:00 in the morning until 10:00 at night.
“Storage Wars” – Substitute everything we said about the “Catch” above, and then sub in “Storage Wars” as the title and A&E the network. The marathon airs from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
“South Park” – Comedy Central is giving Cartman and company a whopping 14 hours of programming — beginning at 9:00 a.m. and then running it all the way until 11:00 that night.
“The Parkers” – Beginning at 8:00 a.m. until 7:30 that night, BET will be running this hit.
“River Monsters” – Do you like getting spooked out of your mind by wildlife? If so, Animal Planet is running this series from 9 in the morning until 7:00.
“Sex and the City” – For the ladies, Style Network will air the edited version of Sarah Jessica Parker’s hit from noon until 8:00 p.m.
“Band of Brothers” – Finally, we’ll end with something that at least captures the spirit of the holiday. The famed HBO miniseries will be airing on Spike for 12 straight hours beginning at 9 in the morning.
