For this weekend version of “American Idol” notes, we are going to start things off by taking a look behind the scenes of Adam Lambert’s super-futuristic new music video for “Never Close Our Eyes.”
While the full video has still not been released, Adam gives us a pretty detailed look here at its content — which is set in an overly-controlled society where his character decides to rebel. In doing so, an entire new world of possibilities opens up for him.
Of course, once Adam actually have the full music video uploaded, we will have it here for your viewing pleasure.
Phillip performs again – For the first time since the “Idol” finale, we have heard Phillip Phillips take on what may be the greatest coronation song in the history of the show.
As a part of “Access Hollywood,” the newly-crowned season 11 champ gave a pretty emotional performance of “Home” — which was slightly different that that there were no drums backing him up or background vocals. It’s a great song for his voice, and it clearly has an indie vibe that could do well on either rock or adult contemporary radio.
Based on the iTunes sales so far, it may actually have a good shot of cracking the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 this week.
Heejun recording for Korea – Before he auditioned for “Idol,” Heejun Han had attempted to find his way in the Korean music scene — and now that the show is over, he could be diving back in headfirst.
Speaking to Clevver Music in a new interview, the ninth-place castoff from this season says that recording an album for Korea is one of his gals immediately following the show’s summer tour. Considering that another former “Idol” contestant in John Park has had some success in the country, it’s possible that Heejun could do the same exact thing.
As always, check back for more “Idol” news!
