This week marked the first time that a contestant on “The Bachelorette” was made available to reporters, and Joe Gendreau had plenty to say on the subject of why he and Emily Maynard did not work out well together.
While he said that he went on the show with the best of intentions, Joe said that Emily really made the choice to send him packing on a one-on-one date based solely on the fact that the two never really had the right sort of chemistry — or the right plans when it comes to their future:
“We just really didn’t hit it off with each other. We were at kind of different places in our lives. I was a single, kind of maybe free-spirited individual. I think she was looking for someone more settled and in a way maybe more committed, whether it be family or work or just looking for that.”
Based on what we have seen and heard, this sort of snappy decision-making from Emily is something that we should expect to see for really the rest of the entire season. Rather than allow people to stick around who she is unsure about, she is often going to choose instead to send them home the moment she realizes that they are not right for her.
Joe marks one of the earliest departures in “Bachelor” or “Bachelorette” history when it comes to not getting a rose on an individual dates.
Out of some of Emily’s remaining guys, who do you think is the most likely to end up winning her heart?
