Are you ready to be surprised? We sure were when we first heard this news.
In a post on Facebook, Andra Fuller of “The L.A. Complex” claimed that the Canadian TV series would air its second season in July on The CW. What makes this news so stunning? It’s mostly the fact that new episodes for season 1 have only been pulling in 0.2-0.3 ratings in the 18-49 demographic, the worst for any broadcast series on television.
As odd as this may seem, though, it does make some sense for the network’s point of view. Repeats of their current shows are likely not to fare any better in the ratings, and with “The Secret Circle,” “Ringer,” and “H8R” all canceled the “Complex” will help to fill a hole until their new shows air in the fall. Plus, it helps that this show is actually quite good, and exposes more of what life is really like for struggling entertainers in Hollywood than most everything else that is on TV.
Perhaps this announcement will encourage some hesitant fans to give the show a chance — if it stays a fixture of the summer, it could develop enough of a base to at least stay put for a while.
