It wasn’t that long ago that we first wrote about some comments Brad Womack made about his ex-fiancee Emily Maynard — specifically, that he feels like “dodged a bullet” by ending up with her. Emily is now “The Bachelorette,” so with that in mind it was pretty obvious that we were going to hear from her on this subject at some point.
So what did Emily ultimately have to say? In a new interview airing Wednesday on “Access Hollywood Live,” our new leading lady said she was hurt by what Brad said, but also offered up another explanation when it comes to the meaning behind the comments:
“I haven’t heard from him since filming started. . . but I don’t know … At first, my feelings were really hurt, because we left everything very civil and I’ve never said a bad word about him. But knowing Brad, he didn’t mean it that way. That’s what I’m going to say.”
In all likelihood, Brad was actually referring here to the fact that he was not ready for this relationship in some way — whether it was living with Emily or having a new daughter in his life in Ricki. Despite being a “Bachelor” two times, Brad admitted in his original interview with an ABC affiliate that he has only been on one date in the past year, and does not exactly seem altogether interested in getting married immediately unless the right woman ends up coming around … whenever that is.
Hopefully, these two will get a chance to work this out soon — after all, Emily already has enough relationship drama to deal with courtesy of her new male suitors.
