On August 7, Adam Lambert’s special on VH1’s “Behind the Music” is set to debut — and with that, we are going to get a pretty in-depth look at the singer’s life both before and after his time on “American Idol.”
With this, there is probably going to be one question that almost immediately comes up — how different is this going to be from the E! True Hollywood Story that has already aired about Adam? When it comes to similarities, a new report outlines that there will be interviews with Adam’s family, and that the special will talk about the singer going overseas at an early age to take part in a tour for the musical “Hair.” The chronology is also going to be pretty similar — mainly because there are really only so many ways that you can tell a story about someone’s life.
As for what will make this special different, we are hoping that the emphasis will be placed both on new faces as well as new music. “Idol” guru Shirley Halperin and former season eight alum Kris Allen should at least give some further insight about Adam’s “Idol” journey, and the expectation here is that we will at least get a few behind-the-scenes tidbits about what sort of new music Adam is working on now — though it’s probably premature to say that we are going to hear a new song or anything of that capacity.
Stay tuned — we will have more details on this special as soon as they become available.
