If you’ve been waiting for confirmation, you now have it — NeNe Leakes is indeed going to be back on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” In an interview on “The Wendy Williams Show” this week, the popular cast member had plenty to say. In addition to claiming that it is a “good thing” that Sheree Whitfield left, she also debunked talk that Kenya Moore would be a part of the show. (She also said that she is unsure about Marlo Hampton’s future on the show.)
NeNe has been on “Glee” this season as Roz Washington, and said that she would want to stay on the show for season 4 in some capacity in Ryan Murphy allows it to happen. Of course, she is going to have something else on her plate that could pose some scheduling conflicts — her new show “The New Normal,” which premieres on NBC this fall:
“[Ryan Murphy] wrote the character for me … So, I didn’t [audition]. He just talked to me about, ‘You want to do this new sitcom with me? It’s called The New Normal. You play this character, Rocky.’ And I said, ‘Yes, let’s do it.’ ”
For right now, NeNe’s role on “The New Normal” is listed as recurring, but she could end up becoming a series regular down the road depending on what sort of ideas Murphy has when it comes to the story.
Do you think NeNe is doing the right thing by staying on “Atlanta,” and do you want to see more of Coach Roz in the future?
