For those of you curious as to what is going to happen on the “American Idol” finale Wednesday night, we now have some more details when it comes to the all-important lineup of performances.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Skylar Laine is going to duet with one of her personal heroes in Reba McEntire; meanwhile, Phillip Phillips will perform alongside John Fogerty — a man whose “We Got Tonight” was a major hit for him during the top 4 performance show.
We have already reported that Joshua Ledet and Fantasia are performing together, and it is now looking as though Jessica Sanchez will be singing with Kristin Chenoweth along with Jennifer Holliday later in the show. Holliday will also be present at the show to perform with Gloria Gaynor, Gladys Knight, and Nelly Furtado as they all honor a recently-departed icon in Donna Summer. In terms of other duets, Hollie Cavanagh is set to sing with season 6 champion Jordin Sparks.
The 1970s are going to play a major role in the finale — in addition to a tribute for Summer, the boys are going to do their best to honor the dearly departed Robin Gibb by performing some Bee Gees classics.
Stay tuned, we’ll have more news pertaining to the “Idol” finale as soon as it breaks!
