Let’s face it — at some point during every season of “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” we reach a point where it is rather difficult to get excited about a new episode. Many storylines feel play out, and there is not much happening that really merits much airtime. We love Heather Dubrow, but who wants to see her debate about her name?
Therefore, it’s no surprise that Tuesday night’s new episode was a bit of a lull. Vicki Gunvalson continued to play off her family drama involving Briana and her new boyfriend Brooks, Slade Smiley promised Gretchen Rossi that he would take care of his child support, and Alexis Bellino tried out modeling for the second season in a row.
In the midst of all of this, what really ended up really getting our attention this episode was the blow-up between Alexis and Tamra Barney in the end — mostly because it brought something new to the table, and it was rather justified. Has there been tension here ever since the two joined the show? Pretty much, and after so many months of it festering it finally came to the surface two week. The conversation started off with a simple question about why they weren’t friends, and then slowly started to descend into name-calling and betrayal as some of the other ladies (see Heather) were thrown under the bus.
We obviously don’t enjoy watching people go through tough times, but we actually think this was a fight the ladies needed to have and that we needed to see. It took Tamra and Gretchen putting all of their cards on the table for them to get along — so couldn’t the same thing happen here in the right situation?
While things seem hopeless here, we still have a feeling there is a light at the end of the tunnel — and after finally seeing something happen that was not just Vicki spinning her wheels about her family, we’re feeling the same thing about this season again.
What was your favorite moment from Tuesday night’s episode, and who do you think was more justified to be angry in the argument — Tamra, or Alexis?
