All season long on “Dancing with the Stars,” we have heard time and time again that this was the most competitive season in history. Was it? Based on the fact that Roshon Fegan went sixth, a potential winner in Maria Menounos placed fourth, and we had three amazing finalists who were all worthy of snagging the Mirrorball Trophy.
So who emerged victorious in the midst of all the filler segments, performances from Kelly Clarkson and Gladys Knight, and perfect scores handed out to all three competitors for their final routines? The results ultimately went like this:
3. William Levy and Cheryl Burke – This was more than a little bit surprising to some, in particular due to the massive screams that William has received in the ballroom all season.
However, remember this — while William may be popular in Los Angeles, but we don’t know how well he goes over in the midwest where football is king. If someone assumed that he was going to win, they may not have voted.
2. Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas – Despite being the best technical dancer all season, we knew that this was going to be hard for Katherine to win. He’s not as well-known as our champion, and does not have that devoted NFL voting block.
With that being said, there may be no one who benefits for from being on this show than Katherine. Thanks to her classy attitude, humor, and overall good spirit, she’s going to be a singing star in this country for years to come.
1. Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd – The NFL wins again! Donald certainly brought a massive fan base to the show, but you also have to give him credit for being a pretty phenomenal dancer.
The best part about this victory? That he literally stopped, dropped, and rolled across the ballroom floor as soon as the victory was announced.
Do you think that America made the right choice, or do you think any one of these dancers would have been a perfect winner?
