The Situation opens up about rehab, ‘Jersey Shore’ in new interview

Mike is back out.

Ever since undergoing treatment earlier this year at a facility in Utah, “Jersey Shore” star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has been more under-the-radar than usual. However, all of that is starting to change now courtesy of a candid new interview with MTV’s Sway.

In the interview, a healthy and happy Mike admits that he was in treatment for an issue related to prescription drug addiction, and that there were times where he worried not only about his life, but how some of his actions would end up damaging the lives of those around him. He works with a team that is largely built up of family members, and with that the weight of many lies on his own shoulders.

As for when he realized that he was at a low point, it was while on a recent trip to Australia when he realized that his pill addiction had made him so tired that he was struggling to showed and even get dressed for a public appearance. He was missing time at a gym, acting differently, and really was not himself.

The best news for Mike is that he is healthy now, and the “Jersey Shore” cast all seems to be supportive of him. He specifically mentions speaking to all of the other guys from the show since trying to readjust to a normal life, and he also has heard from Jenni “Jwoww” Farley.

We said time and time again during season 5 that Mike was the show’s star and driving force at this point, so we hope that he does find a way to keep situated (pun intended) and positive so that we can have a great season 6. Filming will kick off this summer in Seaside Heights, and should air later this year.

Are you happy to see The Situation doing so much better?
