Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman, wife react to ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ cancellation

Following the news on Monday that A&E had decided to cancel “Dog the Bounty Hunter” after eight popular seasons on the air, we now have the first statement courtesy of the show’s famous star Duane “Dog” Chapman and his wife Beth.
In a message posted on the couple’s official site (via his attorney Marty Singer), the family thanked everyone for their support — and promised that there would be something new coming up for them in the near future:
“This has been a great ride for 8 seasons and we would not be where we are today but for our loyal and dedicated fans. We are about to start a new chapter, and an announcement will be made sooner rather than later. You can’t keep a good Dog down.”
During its run “Dog” had become one of A&E’s most-popular programs, not only in the ratings but also when it came to headlines from other news organizations. No matter what he ends up doing, we have a feeling we are going to be seeing plenty more of him soon.
Now that you have had more time to process the show’s cancellation, what is your take on it?

Sounds like a&e is making a bad decision to me. They will start seeing a decline in their fan base.

I’m sick of A&E’s shows (Duck, Storage Wars, etc) and only watch A&E to see DTBH show! I hope that DTBH show and anything else they have planned will go to a new network .. such as FOX … so that they can be seen on more channels than just the higher range cable channels that alot of people don’t have acces to.
Meanwhile, I’ll keep watching the re-runs until the Chapmans make their new upcoming announcement. Best wished to the whole family, and keep up the good work.
Love Ya,
