Ratings: ‘House’ series finale big for Fox; ‘America’s Got Talent’ tops night

The last episode was strong.

Monday night turned out to be a big one for all networks not named CBS and The CW — mostly because they either went with repeats or filler specials. ABC, Fox, and NBC all saw some gains for some of their programming, and the final episode of “House” drew its best numbers since January.

Fox – following a retrospective that drew a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic, the finale posted a strong 2.7 rating to go with 8.7 million viewers. Considering some of the heavy competition, the network has to be rather happy with this number.

ABC – The first part of the “Dancing with the Stars” finale was up versus last week courtesy of a 2.8 rating; meanwhile, “The Bachelorette” dropped two-tenths following its season premiere to score a still-solid 2.4.

NBC – While it’s unclear if the show will be able to keep up these sort of numbers, you have to think that the Peacock is pleased with “American Ninja Warrior” equaling the “Bachelorette” number with a 2.4 of its own. “America’s Got Talent” won the night across all networks with its 3.1 rating, which was down compared to last week’s show.
