Still, it’s one of the most intriguing, off-beat series on the tube now.

I thought the first season was dark with its perverted villains. This season is more than dark, it’s a dystopia. “Rust” Cole and Hart (so very descriptive of their personalities) were far more sympathetic characters, despite their flaws, than Ani and Paul and Ray. I think people are down on the show because it’s not a continuation of the first season.

I didn’t quite get my visual fill of Southern California this week. That’s one of my favorite elements in the show, as the characters move from a poisonous industrial landscape in L.A. county to a none-the-less deadly rural scenery in Ventura county.

I’m looking forward to the extended episode next week. While I will definitely compare it to the finale of season one, I’m going to continue to enjoy this show on its own merits.

I’ve watched so many prime time shows and know well enough to give each one a chance. The first season was amazing you felt so connected and everything was unpredictable. The only way to understand this season is if you interpret it with a fine tooth comb.
