Over the weekend, a service was held in Louisiana to honor the life on Mitchell Guist — an alligator hunter and one of the stars of the popular History Channel series “Swamp People.” While millions of fans mourn one of the series’ most memorable figures, there is still question worth asking — what is going to be the future of Mitchell’s brother Glenn on the show?
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times prior to the service, executive producer Brian Catalina said that there are no decisions being made for the time being when it comes to Guist’s future on the show:
“This is a really hard time for Glenn … Our concern is for Glenn’s well-being.”
This may ultimately be a situation where it is up to Guist as to whether or not he wants to return. His story is going to be an even more popular one now that Mitchell has passed, and “Swamp People” already one of the most-watched shows on the History Channel — even with some heavy competition airing on Thursday nights throughout the season.
Stay tuned — we are going to have more details about the future of the Guist family with this show as soon as they become available.
