We are going to have a rather long wait until “Smash” returns to NBC for its second season, but that does not mean that you have to wait as long to find out that new showrunner Josh Safran is looking to bring in some new faces.
According to a new report from TVLine, the following new characters are going to be joining the “Bombshell” world when season 2 comes back in midseason.
Courtney – An African-American member of the chorus in her mid-twenties.
Danny – A man from Brooklyn who is from the working class, and also has some great talent — however, he also suffers from some self-destructive tendencies.
Joe – A gay man from Brooklyn who is incredibly optimistic, and could be the positive source of energy the show’s world needs in the midst of Julia breaking down and Ellis being Ellis.
Unfortunately for those of you anxious to see Ellis being set free from this world sooner rather than later, we’re still hearing that the character will be a part of season 2 — after all, doesn’t everyone need someone to loathe when you have an ensemble cast?
Do you think that more characters is really the solution for a show as plagued with character problems as “Smash” was during season 1?
