Even though the first part of the “Dancing with the Stars” finale is airing on Monday night, the one subject that fans still seem to the most excited to talk about at the moment pertains more to the upcoming All-Stars edition airing this fall.
So who does judge Carrie Ann Inaba want to see back int he ballroom? In an interview on “Good Morning America” Monday, she listed off a score of names of people who have done remarkably well on the show in the past — including Gilles Marini, Mel B, Kirstie Alley, and Mario Lopez. She would also want to see such people as Ty Murray and Gavin DeGraw who were certainly likable on their respective seasons, even if they never really received the sort of scores as some of the top performers ever on the show.
Really, there are two questions that producers do need to ask themselves right away before casting this season:
1. Do you pair the contestants up with the same partners? If you do, then you can’t have both Mel and Kirstie since they were each with Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
2. What skill set are you looking for? It’s not really fair to put on Gilles and Mario — who you know are sensational — and then try to get a Gavin to compete with them. There’s just no suspense here in who is going to last a long time in the competition.
Who do you want to see on the All-Stars show, and how do you think the competition should be balanced out?
