If you’ve been following us for quite some time, then you already know how we feel that Chef Gordon Ramsay is one of the greatest television personalities who has ever lived. How can someone so angry be so inspiring? That’s the question we ask ourselves every time he smashes a hot fish with his bare hands, only to later shake one of his contestants to get them to realize their true potential.
In just two weeks on June 4, Ramsay is going to be back in a big way with two of his most-popular culinary competitions — “Hell’s Kitchen” and “MasterChef.” In the case of the former, it is an intense quest to find a chef worthy of Ramsay’s new Las Vegas steakhouse. It is what made Ramsay a star here in America, as his touch attitude and near-constant swearing allowed him become a pop-culture phenomenon.
Meanwhile, the latter show is a real showcase of Gordon’s kinder, gentler side as he joins Graham Elliot and Joe Bastianich to find some of the best home cooks in America. These are people who love cooking, but have been sidetracked in some way from pursuing their dreams. The nature of this show is what makes it so exciting, and after a so-so first go-around it found its footing last summer thanks to some intense challenges, a format that allowed us to get to know the contestants better, and tasks that better analyzed the cooks’ creative abilities along with their technique.
Are you excited to see these two shows again, and can you even pick a favorite between the two?
