‘American Idol’ notes: Casey Abrams, Adam Lambert, and Kelly Clarkson

Here's the cover.

For our Saturday edition of “American Idol” notes, we are going to start by talking about some new music — and end with an announcement about where someone will be tackling their new single in a matter of days.

Casey’s new album – For all of you Casey Abrams fans out there, we have some great news — his debut album with Concord Music Group is going to be arriving June 26. An interesting note? A certain “Idol” judge in Randy Jackson is listed as one of the executive producers on the disc. While we see this more with other shows, the judges have not taken too much of a personal investment in many past contestants’ music.

Here is the full track list for the self-titled disc:

  1. Simple Life
  2. Ghosts
  3. Get Out
  4. Great Bright Morning
  5. Blame It On Me
  6. Wore Out My Soul
  7. Stuck In London
  8. Midnight Girl
  9. A Boy Can Dream
  10. Dry Spell
  11. Hit The Road Jack

Some of these songs we have already heard at various times in the past few weeks — for example, you can hear two of our absolute favorites in “Great Bright Morning” and “Midnight Girl” below. According to the Press-Enterprise, the cover of “Hit the Road, Jack” is also going to be a collaboration with Casey’s musical pal Haley Reinhart.

If you want to download first single “Simple Life,” all you have to is head over to Casey’s Tumblr page and enter your email address.

Adam talks hopes for #1 – It’s still too close to call at the moment, but Adam Lambert could still have his first-ever #1 on the Billboard 200 in “Trespassing” this week. His appearance on “Idol” Thursday night surely helped, as does his promise to release a tease for his “Never Close Our Eyes” video if the album gets back at the top of iTunes sales charts.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter after the “Idol” show Thursday night, Adam said that really, still having the support of the fans is far more important to him than any sort of specific chart milestone:

“I’m not so much concerned about the chart. I’m more flattered and validated by fans and critics having such a good time listening to it.”

We should hopefully have more information on Adam’s chart status early next week.

Kelly coming to “Dancing” – Just a matter of days before the premiere of her new show “Duets,” Kelly Clarkson has a score of performances lined up.

Following the news that she will premiere “Darkside” (at least as her single) at the Billboard Music Awards Sunday, Kelly will also perform the song during the “Dancing with the Stars” finale on Tuesday night. Let’s hope you love a lot of Kelly on your TV sets!

As always, check back soon for more of the latest “Idol” news!
