We have arrived at our final edition of “Dancing with the Stars” rankings, and some of the declarations about this being the most competitive season ever are starting to turn out to be true. This is one of the first seasons where everyone in the final four (including the eliminated Maria Menounous) stood a solid chance of winning the entire season.
Now, we are down to just three people who each bring in some serious advantages and disadvantages to the ballroom — Katherine Jenkins, Donald Driver, and William Levy.
3. Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas (last week: #4) – We’ve said this time and time again this season — if you are looking to vote for someone based on pure technical ability, Katherine is probably your girl. Her ballroom dances are something magical, and she’s also helped by the fact that she’s seemingly a pretty delightful person.
As for what Katherine has working against her, it’s fairly simple — she’s not an NFL player or a Latin hunk. Translation? We’re not sure she has the same sort of devoted voting block, and may be dinged because of it. We also don’t know what sort of impact her recent back injury will have on her not just physically, but also psychologically.
2. Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd (last week: #2) – One season after making her debut and getting eliminated the first week, Peta is now in the finale with the sort of person who typically ends up winning this show — an NFL player who has spent his entire career with one team.
What makes Donald such a great dancer is his dedication — he works tirelessly, and he also carries this passion and intensity over to the dance floor. He’s clearly got an enormous voting block behind him, so really the only question that remains is whether or not he can draw the same scores as our #1.
1. William Levy and Cheryl Burke (last week: #1) – It’s been over ten seasons since Cheryl has won a Mirrorball Trophy, but she has a great shot this year courtesy of a man who has captured much of America’s imagination.
Not only has this competition showed William off to be an interesting personality, but he’s also a great dancer. Ever since he worked through some of his issues earlier this season, he’s been on the rise — and now may be up there with Gilles Marini has one of the best male dancers of his height to ever be in the competition.
