Sharon Osbourne — ‘America’s Got Talent’ has great comedy this season

Be ready to laugh.

Do you love watching great comedy? If so, this season of “America’s Got Talent” may very well be the best ever in that department. Without a show now like “Last Comic Standing” on the year, some of the best comedic talent is now having to find somewhere else to go — and apparently, that means that this show is really it.

As a part of a new video promoting the show via NBCUniversal Direct, judge Sharon Osbourne promises that this is a “great” year for comedy, as there are a number of strong comedians who audition and deserve consideration for the live shows. This really works in stark contrast to some past seasons, where really you are lucky to see just one or two talents that actually make you laugh in an intentional fashion.

As for somebody who knows a thing or two about telling jokes, Nick Cannon is focusing his attention elsewhere when talking about the show at the moment — specifically, on the abilities of Howard Stern and what the radio icon brings to the table as part of the judging panel:

“Surprising is probably to define Howard Stern … You’re surprised on how compassionate he is, how seriously he takes his job. Every day is something new.”

If you did end up missing the first two episodes of this season, you can catch the repeats on NBC this weekend; if you want to watch them now, however (and live in the United States), you can do so below.

Are you excited about a greater abundance of comedy this season?
