For the first time in over a decade, Conan O’Brien filmed an appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman” Thursday — and in the process, we are going to see one of the most potentially-awkward interviews ever.
Long fans of late-night television already know the common bond here — Letterman was passed over for “The Tonight Show” in favor of Jay Leno, while Conan lost “The Tonight Show” to Jay before heading to TBS in late 2010. The two waste no time in the preview clip below mocking Jay, with Conan claiming that he was sitting outside of the studio in a van with headphones on.
Of course, Dave also had some fun at Conan’s expense — he claimed that the week and a half that the Conan / Leno drama was happening over at NBC was a “golden age of television history,” which led to Conan replying that in the midst of everything, he was just happy that he found a way to make Dave happy.
