It’s been a long time coming, but on Thursday night we finally had an answer to a question so many people have been asking for some time — who is going to be a part of the “American Idol” finale this season?
Of course, Ryan Seacrest stretched out this result for as long as humanly possible, but we at least had some performances to keep us waiting.
Lisa Marie Presley – Lisa Marie is the new Lana Del Rey … though the problem is that she has been around long before the “Video Games” singer. We just found this whole ordeal to be a little sleepy, and we really didn’t need it a night after a few sleepy performances.
Adam Lambert – There was no question that Adam was going to knock “Never Close Our Eyes” out of the park even before he stepped out on stage. Not only was the performance top-notch, but it was also nice to see something fun and fast-paced on a show that has become balladtown for much of the past week.
Phillip Phillips (safe) – Are you even remotely surprised that Phillip is a finalist? You shouldn’t be. He’s the only person without a bottom three appearance, and Fantasia is shockingly the only winner who has been in jeopardy during her season.
Really, the only way Phillip loses is if he has a dud night on Tuesday — or, if fans of Joshua and Jessica rally together for him.
Jessica Sanchez (safe) – We were only slightly surprised here, mostly because she has been in jeopardy of going home here. She is, however, more than deserving of the opportunity.
As for if she can win, definitely — she just needs her fans to rally together for her.
Joshua Ledet (going home) – That’s right — the strongest male singer in the entire competition went home before the end. We’re sad, disappointed, but still hopeful that he will have a major career moving forward.
As for how America can eliminate one of the most consistent singers ever on the show, blame him going first on the night — it’s what everyone else does.
Do you think that America made the right choice, and who are you now rooting for to win this whole season?
