While “The X Factor” here in America was successful in recruiting Britney Spears and Demi Lovato to join the panel for season 2, the show is not doing as well in the country where it first started when it comes to finding its fourth judge.
Multiple sources have confirmed that despite lengthy negotiations following the exit of Kelly Rowland from the panel, Dannii Minogue will not be returning to the show where she resided until the end of the 2010 season. Why? Although there were talks between the two camps, money seemed to be an issue that led to Dannii walking away.
While there’s no firm candidate now to be the fourth judge (and there really is only a few days left to look for someone new), Simon Cowell has to go back to the drawing board.
Speaking of Lovato’s new gig on the show, there have been plenty of congratulations that have come in her direction — with one of the most notable ones being courtesy of Niall Horan of One Direction. In a new post on Twitter, the boy band member (who was discovered on the UK series during Dannii’s last season) had this to say to the “Skyscraper” singer:
“[Congrats] @ddlovato …look after @SimonCowell uncle simon for us.”
Demi recently signed a contract valued at over $1 million to join the show as a judge — which could end up being a major platform for her the same way that it was for Tulisa Contostavlos in Britain this past season.
Who do you think is the best fit for the UK spot at this point?
