For the Thursday afternoon edition of “American Idol” notes, we are going to start off by talking about a new show — and then finish with some more talk about whether or not Jennifer Lopez will stay on board the mothership for another season.
Kelly’s duet partners revealed – While we still don’t know too much about Kelly Clarkson’s new series “Duets” (except that it is a show all about singers performing with superstars), we at least now know who will be rocking out on stage with the season 1 champ soon after the show premieres on Thursday, May 24 (which just so happens to be a day after the “Idol” finale).
-The first person performing with Kelly will be 23-year old Jason Farol from Torrance, California.
-Meanwhile, the second will be 21-year old Jordan Meredith from Kimberly Wisconsin.
The show will feature Kelly competing alongside Robin Thicke, John Legend, and Jennifer Nettles, who will all have traveled the country to find some duet partners to perform with on stage. It may actually be refreshing to only have to get to know eight contestants over the course of the season — at least compared to “The Voice,” where you tend to forget about everyone only days after they perform.
You can check out a “Duets” sneak peek at the bottom of this article.
Lee promises new music – Meanwhile, we have an update for some of the Lee DeWyze fans hoping for some new music soon — he’s promising that it will be coming up in the near future.
Lee has been performing in Branson, Missouri along with some other former contestants such as Blake Lewis and Thia Megia, and he posted the following message in a post on his Twitter account:
“Hey everyone! Sorry I’ve been so busy lately :) I’m going to take a video from tonight’s show, new song. Can’t wait to share! Talk soon :)”
As soon as a performance is updated, we’ll have it for you here.
Mum on J.Lo – If you want to know the future of Jennifer Lopez on “Idol,” let’s hope that you have plenty of patience.
According to E! News, media outlets were told not to ask anyone about whether or not the “Dance Again” singer would come back for a season 12 — though early reports suggest that she is hoping to tour internationally and focus her attention on there rather than on finding new talent.
As always, check back soon for more “Idol” news!
