In reply to Leo. When the time came to renew contracts Nathan was the first to sign and indicates (at least to me) that he is happy with his role in Castle. Stana, however, indicated that she was unhappy and would not sign unless there was further development in her character (thank God for the prevention of staleness). I would think that all of this could easily lead to 3 more seasons (including season 8) as Beckett became captain of the 12th, as she became a senator and as she became a mother. With regard to the writers I believe that they are capable provided they are given proper guidance with regard to the overall season story line. I believe that a lot of the recent trouble was a result of the previous show runners' liking for story arcs that did not make sense. After all if Castle's disappearance was so important why did it take a year before there was any real activity regarding it. Why did it take 4 years between appearances of 3xk. Why the disruption (6x23) in the Caskett wedding. I believe that Nathan was 100% correct when he said that people get bored in the waiting and that that was the cause of the drop in viewers from 13 million to 9 million.

Well if you go with the chromosome theory then season 8 is the end of the series. Marlowe stated that when Beckett gave birth that would be the end.
I have my doubts that any of the writers can match the 40’s Nick and Nora Charles sassy banter, the last stable of writers couldn’t pull it off.

We all know that x is often used in algebraic formulas for the unknown. Likewise y can also represent an unknown altogether different than x. The two together can also represent an unknown or it could represent x times y. Mathematically x and y can represent the horizontal (x) axis and the vertical axis (y) for graphing and other purposes. And the list of mathematical and representative (x=castle and y= Becket) uses can go on to the point of tedium. Hence I refuse to consider any of the possible ramifications when all I have to do is wait until 9/21/2015.
