‘America’s Next Top Model: British Invasion’ review: Want controversy?

Who left this time?

This season of “America’s Next Top Model” continues to be a mystery to us. We have had two people quit the competition, some bizarre photo shoots, and a dark cloud that is over the season in general now that we know that Nigel Barker, Jay Manuel, and J. Alexander are all no longer a part of the show.

To make matters worse, Tyra Banks decided Wednesday to keep the twist alive by sending home someone who really decided to be in the final two — Annaliese. Why did she do this? She really just seemed to want someone from America and someone from Britain in the final two, that way there would be that extra element of competition to it. However, remember this — not only was Laura fired from one of her go-sees earlier this season, but she also impressed on fewer go-sees this week than any of the three remaining contestants. (Then again, the panel often makes unusual decisions that would not mesh with the real world — remember, Brittani won cycle 16 despite causing a ton of drama while in front of photographers.)

Since we can’t change the fact that Annaliese is now gone, we have to look forward at a finale featuring Sophie and Lisa. On the surface, the two seem to be pretty evenly-matched courtesy of challenge performances — but sometimes, you often have to look deeper than that at how they perform in the other challenges and act around the house. With this in mind, it’s hard to root against Sophie — someone who has come across as extremely likable throughout the season, and can also be a role model to young people who may be watching the show.

What did you think about Tyra’s decision, and who are you rooting for?
