If you have read some of our past posts on “The Vampire Diaries,” then you probably know now that Kluas will be back in some shape or form early next season — even if he is simply within the body of Tyler Lockwood for at least the first few weeks until he can find a way to get his original body back.
With this in mind, it’s fair to say that the character is going to have a major new agenda. Now that Elena is being transformed into a vampire, the doppelganger is now going to be gone — and his dream of creating his evil army is going to be destroyed (at least in this form). Speaking to TV Guide, executive producer Julie Plec elaborates a bit on what is going to be going through the guy’s head:
“The loss of the doppelganger is gonna be a BFD for Klaus and will drive his actions for the season. Suddenly he’s vulnerable for many reasons. There’s a stake that can kill him, a witch that can desiccate him, and no way to build up the hybrid army he needs — psychologically, at least — to feel safe. Plus, Caroline’s going to be peeved at him once she realizes he bamboozled her. In other words, he ain’t gonna be so happy.”
If there is one thing that Klaus does have going for him, it is that he has proven himself time and time again to be a survivor. No matter how many times it appears as though he can’t survive, he finds a way to come back just as evil as ever.
Of course, it’s probably fair to say that Klaus will not be the only season 4 villain — but don’t expect to see any further announcements on casting until at least later in the summer.
Do you think Klaus will be the primary villain?
