Demi Lovato certainly is rising from the ground with her new single “Skyscraper” — Billboard has just announced that she has notched her highest debut ever on their Digital Songs chart with her brand-new (and meaningful) single.

With 176,000 total downloads in the past week, “Skyscraper” marks Demi’s highest debut yet on the chart in terms of total sales, and it ties her “This Is Me” duet from “Camp Rock” in 2008 when it comes to chart position at #2 (with it only trailing LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem”). As for where it will debut on the Hot 100 once that chart is released, it is currently difficult to say — however, don’t be surprised if she marks her strongest position ever on the chart.

Reviews of “Skyscraper” have been overwhelmingly positive, with critics praising everything from the strong vocals to the powerful message behind the song. It rose to #1 on iTunes shortly after its debut, and at one point was at the top of both the Single and Music Video charts.
