‘American Idol’ notes: Hollie Cavanagh, Colton Dixon, and Jordin Sparks

Hollie's media tour continues.

For our Tuesday afternoon edition of “American Idol” notes, we are starting things off by looking at what is going on with some recently-eliminated contestants — and then, we will move on at the end to dishing on what we can expect to see from one of the show’s past winners on Sunday.

Hollie’s press tour – Hollie Cavanagh has been literally anywhere any everywhere over the past few days trying to cream all of her press in across New York City — and we have two of her more noteworthy performances here.

In the video boxes below, you can see Hollie perform “The Climb” on “Access Hollywood,” and also stop in for a brief chat about the season on “The Today Show,” as well — though these interviews always feel more like the hosts are trust trying to throw them in and out of the studio.

A new appearance – Want to get an autograph from one of the eliminated stars of this year’s top 12? Well, you are going to get a prime opportunity to do just that if you visit a certain Kohl’s clothing store Wednesday from 9-11:00 a.m. Pacific time.

Everyone from Jeremy Rosado to Colton Dixon to even Hollie will be present at the Alhambra store at 1201 South Fremont Avenue, and are there in order to help promote the “Authentic Icon” collection sponsored by the show. (Somehow, we have a feeling footage of this will be used for a future results show.)

Considering that there aren’t many opportunities to meet all of these contestants, this may be the chance — though we also wonder why they are doing this appearance during a weekday while kids are still in school.

Jordin added to the Billboard Music Awards – Before Whitney Houston passed away Jordin Sparks filmed a movie with her in “Sparkle,” and now she is going to be one of the artists tributing the legend at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday.

In a statement, it was announced that both Jordin and John Legend will perform a special tribute in honor of Houston, who is being honored with the Millennium Award.

As always, stay tuned for more “Idol” news!
