After months of speculation, it is finally confirmed — “30 Rock” will be airing its final season this coming fall.
Speaking at the NBC upfront presentation Monday, network programming head Robert Greenblatt confirmed the news, and also said that the seventh season (and the series as a whole) would conclude with a special one-hour episode:
“I know Tina [Fey], Alec and the rest [of the show’s team] will deliver some of their best work … We think the world of Tina and hope she will be in the NBC family for years to come.”
There is still no official word on whether or not two of NBC’s other comedy series — in “Community” and “Parks and Recreation” — will also be ending after this season is complete. (Stay tuned — we’ll have more news on this front soon.)
