‘American Idol’ notes: Adam Lambert, Hollie Cavanagh, and Haley Reinhart

Adam's promotional tour begins.

We have quite a bit to get to when it comes to “American Idol” Monday morning, and we will kick off with what is set to be a rather busy week for Adam Lambert.

Adam opens up – There are a plethora of interviews related to Adam hitting the internet as we near the Tuesday launch of “Trespassing” — not only did Adam perform “Never Close Our Eyes” on “Good Morning America” Monday morning (video below via Mjsbigblog), but he also spoke to the Associated Press.

In the latter interview, Adam made a smart point about the problem at the moment when it comes to singing competition shows — while he doesn’t mind that there are so many of them, artists also have to realize that being on a show does not guarantee fame:

“I think that it’s great that there are shows out there giving people that platform. It’s really difficult to make it in the music industry. These shows are great because they show what the person is capable of and their journey and process of becoming an artist. … I think the difficult thing is the transition between TV competition series and going into the actual music industry. There still seems to be a slight disconnect there. Hopefully, they’re fixing that.”

Out of all the major singing competitions, “Idol” has done the best job at preparing artists for a career after the show — though we have also seen time and time again that they are not perfect.

Hollie on “Live!” – As is the tradition with “Idol” contestants, Hollie Cavanagh appeared Monday morning on “Live! with Kelly” for a brief performance and interview about the show.

We don’t have too many details here yet, but we will have a video of the performance after it ends up hitting the web. (Update: Hollie performed “Bleeding Love,” and you can check it out below — also via Mjsbigblog.)

Will Haley tour? – With Haley Reinhart’s “Listen Up!” hitting stores on May 22, the season 10 alum has been more active than usual on Twitter in order to pump up a little bit of excitement for what is to be a rather exciting time for her.

So will she follow up this album with a tour? In response to a fan, she claimed that she is looking at some potential dates for the fall, but there are still a number of logistics to be worked out before anything at all can be announced.

As always, stay tuned for more “Idol” news!
