For our daily dose of “Grey’s Anatomy” scoop leading up to the season finale airing Thursday night, we are finding out yet again another sobering reminder that this finale is not going to be an easy one to digest — and it does not even remotely matter if you are a fan of certain characters over others.
So how does the plane crash that we are going to witness compare to some of what we have seen during this show’s past? In comparing the disaster to the deadly shooting at the end of season 6, series star Chandra Wilson (Dr. Bailey) tells E! News that this is comparable when it comes to intensity. The only good news is that Bailey does not seem to be one of the people likely in danger of losing her life. (Instead, the three most-likely candidates — pending “Grey’s” pulling a fast one on us — are Lexie, Mark, and Arizona.)
If there is anything positive that can come out of an incident like this, it is that the crash may end up actually bringing together many of the other doctors together at a time when they are thinking about leaving Seattle Grace in favor of other hospitals. Since we know now that Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh, Patrick Dempsey, and many others are now under contract until season 10, the writers have to come up with a reason for them to turn down some of the other job offers that are out there.
With this being said, we wish there was another way to unite the Seattle Grace team without it being so tragic in the process.
Do you think the end result of this crash will end up bringing all of the surviving doctors together? Stay tuned — later this week, we’ll have full video sneak peeks from the finale.
