Are you ready for a ratings stunner? Here it is — despite just about everyone thinking that it would be canceled, ABC has decided to give “Body of Proof” another go.
According to Deadline, “Proof” is going to receive a third-season order of 13 episodes, which could be potentially extended if the ratings pick up or if their new pilots fail. (Think of this as a safety net.) Meanwhile, “Private Practice” has also been picked up for 13 episodes — though in this, it is believed to be the similar sort of final-season order we’re getting for such shows like “Fringe” and “30 Rock.”
Meanwhile, some of the network’s other bubble shows in “Last Man Standing” and “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23” have also been renewed. However, it’s unclear at the moment what sort of order they have received.
For those curious, the alphabet network has officially set themselves up when it comes to returning series, with the major cancellations being “The River,” “Pan Am,” “GCB,” “Missing,” and “Cougar Town” (which is really being moved to TBS rather than being canceled).
Are you stunned by the “Proof” renewal?
