The third and fourth were increasingly contrived. An entourage of random characters appeared just so they could randomly switch allegiances and/or die to provide the illusion of a plot.
Usually if I’ve been watching a show for a few years I’m checking the time during the finale to see just how much is left. Same here, different reason. Victoria dead – check. David Clarke’s death was so unemotional even Amanda looked like she’d just had her neighbor’s cat put to sleep. And the romance with Jack which was supposedly the finish line had less chemistry than a bag of white flour.
