There’s a story that Benson will have to choose a 2nd in command in the last episode of the season. The obvious choice would be ICE-T, unless NBC is planning to get rid of him. Since his contract(and everybody’s but Mariska’s) is up after this season, you don’t know what is going to happen. NBC has cut the salary and spending budget for SVU for 4 straight seasons. Should we expect them to wake up from this continued stupidity and put money into the show? It would be great, but it’s probably asking a lot. Choosing Danny Pino over Kelli Giddish(or the other way around) is going to cause some friction in the infamous ROLLARO relationship. Someone hinted that there might be an interesting revelation for the 2 of them. I’m staying away from that one. Since there hasn’t been any news on the contract front for the other cast members, we can only hope for the best.

i hope not but i hope that there is a story line where the DA gets concerns about ADA Barba and Decide’s that Svu needs a Bureau Chief which is Alexander Cabot and of course Benson’s is supposed to return this time as Lt. Olivia Benson. i hope to see a 2 hour episode with Chicago pd and SVU. and Paula Foster returns as a Prisoner and a victim but not until the last episode and the last season of SVU.

Right now, it looks like the cliffhanger going into next season will be about who will be back for season 17. The only person signed to return is Mariska. Nobody else has a contract for next season. Since NBC went and made the insane decision to bring back The Mysteries of Laura for 13 episodes, I can only assume that either Kelli Giddish, Danny Pino and Ice-T will not be back next season. NBC has cut the payroll and budget for SVU for the last 4 seasons, and I’m willing to bet that it will happen again. Don’t believe the bull that costs are always increasing on this show. It’s a lie. The smart financial decision would have taken the money from the cancelled Laura and use it to give new contracts with salary increases(especially to Kelli Giddish) for SVU season 17 and beyond. Unfortunately NBC has a major love affair with Debra Messing and decided to extremely overpay her(and everyone else on that disaster) for at least another 13 episodes next season. I really wish that Dick Wolf would offer SVU to another network once NBC wants to probably get rid of it after next season(my guess) but he and NBC seem joined at the hip now. He will have CHICAGI FIRE, PD, and MED on NBC next season, and NBC would rather have SVU end than let another network that would return it to being a major hit again have it. Let’s hope I’m mistaken
