If there is one “American Idol” results show you want to move on from, it is the one that aired Thursday night. The three contestants left are going to get the opportunity to head home for a “hero” visit, which includes everything from parades to TV interviews and more publicity than we can possibly imagine.
So who is going to miss out on all this? Read on to find out!
David Cook, “The Last Song I’ll Write For You” – We love David Cook, and want him to perform on just about every results show that he wants to be at. However, this new song is not his catchiest, and it was also harder to connect with to “The Last Goodbye.”
Jennifer Lopez, “Dance Again” – By cynical if you will about J.Lo’s vocal abilities, but you also have to remember that she is an entertainer first and foremost — which is why she has sold so many concert tickets already. while we still don’t understand all of the computerized vocals, it was at least captivating to watch.
The safe artists
Jessica Sanchez – Should she be in the final three? Definitely. We’ve been pulling for a Jessica / Joshua showdown for some time, and this gets us a step closer to reality. If she wants to win this show, though, she will need to continue to bring it with every performance.
Joshua Ledet – Considering that Joshua gave one of the best “Idol” performances in history Wednesday night with “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World,” we would be booing Ryan Seacrest off the stage if he was not here.
Phillip Phillips – We were starting to worry about Phillip, but then he performed “Volcano” and proved to us that he is indeed worthy of heading back to Georgia to see his family.
With all of this in mind, we ended up saying goodbye to Hollie Cavanagh this week — a decision that was hardly a surprise when you look not only the voting history, but the performances from Wednesday’s show.
Do you like the top 3, and who do you think is going to end up winning season 11?
