If “Dancing with the Stars” does end up airing an “All-Stars” season in the future, don’t expect to see the likes of Jennifer Grey, Drew Lachey, or J.R. Martinez in the ballroom. Based on what we are hearing now, the show is going with a sort of “Unfinished Business” theme that we last saw with “The Amazing Race.”
According to a TV Guide source close to the show, producers are looking to bring on people who were popular on their past seasons, but did not win and are still hungry for the title. Some of the names brought up here include past fan favorites as Gilles Marini, Kyle Massey, Sabrina Bryan, Mel B., and Mario Lopez — who all either made the finale or were eliminated before their time.
There are still a number of logistics that would have to be worked out for this show to work, though — including whether you bring back past pros or dealing with some different relationships. (Lopez and partner Karina Smirnoff dated for a time, but they each have moved on.)
With the following list of names already in mind as strong possibilities, the “no winners” rule means that some other favorites including Stacy Keibler, Kelly Osbourne, Ty Murray, Jennie Garth, and Jerry Rice could be considered for the show.
Show executive producer Conrad Murray has already confirmed that the idea for a “Dancing” All-Stars has been discussed at length, but the current problem at the moment is trying to make sure that it works when it comes to scheduling.
Who do you want to see return to the show for another go?
