On this Thursday morning edition of “American Idol” notes, we are going to be talking mostly about some big-time gigs coming up for a pair of singers who have certainly stood out in the sea of contestants who have been on this show.
Adam books “GMA” – Adam Lambert is getting set for a major TV tour for his sophomore album “Trespassing,” and it looks as though one of his first stops next week is going to be on “Good Morning America.”
Adam confirmed the news in a new post on Twitter late Wednesday, and there will be many more where that came from — including an appearance on “Idol” next week for the results show. More than likely, his new single “Never Close Our Eyes” is going to be front and center for most of these appearances.
In other Adam-related news, did you know that his debut album “For Your Entertainment” has finally made it to Platinum status? Adam also posted the news in the past 24 hours, which is always something that is nice to hear.
Be sure to pick up “Trespassing” when it comes out on May 15 — it’s Adam’s finest work yet.
Jessica heads to PBS – Regardless of how Jessica Sanchez finishes this season, it looks as though she is going to be the first season 11 contestant to score a major gig on national television relatively unrelated to the show.
Speaking to TV Guide, Sanchez confirms that she will be appearing and performing at the National Memorial Day Concert event airing May 27 (just a matter of days after the finale) on PBS:
“I’m going to be singing the national anthem and ‘The Prayer’ … I’ve known these songs my whole life and they’re both special to me. I’m really happy about this.”
Jessica is a perfect fit for the event, as her father is a member of the military and she therefore will understand the meaning of the day a little bit better than some others.
Stay tuned — we’ll have more TV announcements concerning some of your favorite “Idol” stars moving forward!
