I'm thinking that the death takes place in next week's episode and will be dealt with in the finale. If you watch the promo, McGee is escorting a casket back to the states and he's by himself so I'm still assuming it's Dorneget. Plus, in that same promo, if you want toward the end, it shows someone that resembles Dorney get blown from and explosion so I'm assuming that the person that dies is at least male. I know that doesn't sound shocking but at the same time, Ziva sounds pretty predictable too. I was thinking the other possibilities because ever since the whole PD contract thing on Grey's, no one is really safe. Vance, Duckie, Jimmy, and even Gibbs are all shocking possibilities. I could go on and on but maybe the last two episode promo's are mixed together because they will all lead up the the big finale. Still, I'm assuming it's Dorneget. He is in next weeks episode but not in the finale so I'm still thinking he will die in next week's episode and it will be dealt with in the finale.

Im utterly confused by this line:

We’d ultimately be shocked to lose Tony, given his importance on the
series, and also the notion of getting rid of Tony now well before his
story comes to a close.

What story?

Hes been the Senior field agent under Gibbs now for how many years? More than 10. As jobs go, hes now too experienced for the one he is in, and in reality would most likely be leading his OWN team by now. Hes been treading water for a looong time now. I would go so far as to say that its likely he wont be promoted now, as he has shown no signs that he still wants to advance his career.

In fact the last time it looked liked he might leave to go to Spain to lead a team they contrived the plot with Gibbs 'retiring' to get him to stay.

I can't see how Tony would be the one to die if he's going to appear in season 7 NCIS LA. It would almost be a relief though. He doesn't do anything anymore as Gibbs and McGee get all the drama and exciting stories. Tony has been mostly insignificant window dressing this season. It's becoming ridiculously apparent that the writers simply aren't allowed to give anyone but Gibbs and McGee the good stuff. Gotta wonder who they're keeping happy with that agenda.

I just have this awful feeling it will be Tony.. After Michaels twitter post asking fans about how the feel about Patrick Dempseys exit from Greys makes me nervous... I hope it isn't but call it a 'gut' feeling. And if the character coming back that will make everyone happy I could assume that would be the lovely Ziva and one of the few things that would cause her to come back would be our lovely Tony DiNozzo.

Did they really bring back Dorneget to kill him off? (big sigh) It does look like McGee walking off the plane alone in the next episode. Tony could be the one to go since having a contract doesn't really mean that you won't get killed off. I think MW is frustrated as are other original cast members with the way the show is going although I still think they are great and they continue to give their best effort. Could be a flashback with Tony on LA if he bites the big one as they search for his killer. They would want to get that episode out of the way so that his NCIS duties would be complete. In any case I don't think it matters much which cast mate is sacrificed as things have changed so much. The only NCIS death that would surprise me at this point is if it were Bishop. She's young looking and could easily infiltrate the child terrorists and get blown up in the process. But as hard as TPTB worked to keep her the last year and a half that seems unlikely. EW said it was someone everyone likes. Also, we are expecting a death next week on Lost Boys but will we also get one at the end of the finale episode?

I'm with you on Ducky and Vance. David McCallum is now 81 years old and I'm thinking that he would like to finally retire. Also he didn't seem to look well in the last episode. I think that Palmer made a comment about that. My next choice is Vance. We really didn't see him a lot during this last season and I'm thinking Rocky Carrol may have something else he wants to pursue. Unless Brian Dietzen has a better offer for another gig, I'm thinking that he will stay. I'm glad to hear that LA is probably going to be renewed. I really like all of the characters on LA. Although the plot lines are a bit weak sometimes, Shane Brennan is holding on to the game plan of DP Bellisario. The team is a family, Hetty is the mother to her team and there is a lot of humor--witty banter. Since TPTB have changed most of what I liked about NCIS, I'm finding a haven in LA. If I want an intricate plot, it's in the Blacklist. Kudos to Shane Brennan. I hope that they give LA a better time slot.
