‘Dancing with the Stars’ spoilers: Chris Soules, Rumer Willis travel back in time for week 7

Rumer Willis -We traditionally enjoy it when “Dancing with the Stars” hops in the sequined-laced time machine for one of the weeks of the season. It is so easy at this point in the competition for every single dance to be the same, so you really want to do what you can to make something stand out.

That is what makes Monday’s show so interesting. Everyone has a different era in which they are performing from, and to go along with that, everyone seems to also have their own style. This should make for a night of diverse performances, with hopefully a few classic ones thrown in there. For the record, we tend to find the futuristic ones to be the most innovative since there is no clear blueprint on what can and cannot be used.

For the record, the selections below come courtesy of BuddyTV; our impressive are our own.

1920s – Riker Lynch and Allison Holker, quickstep. This should be fun. It is at least something will have a very unique, creative feel to it.

1940s – Chris Soules and Witney Carson, foxtrot. Given that Chris typically performs ballroom routines much better than Latin ones, we feel optimistic that he can pull this off.

1960s – Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy, jive. We’re actually not entirely sure what this will look like. We typically think more of jive as something from the 50s.

1970s – Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess, jazz. Let’s hope that Noah has no problem wearing an afro. That will definitely happen.

1980s – Robert Herjaveck and Kym Johnson, Argentino tango. Given that Robert was probably in the heyday of his youth in the 80s, we figure that he probably is going to love the chance to rock out to something here.

Modern era – Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough / Sasha Farber, Charleston. There are two strange things about this routine: First, Hough may be too injured to dance. Second, the Charleston is typically an old-timey dance.

Future – Willow Shields and Mark Ballas, jazz. This is the only repeat style on the night, and given Mark’s stellar choreography this season, he will probably kill it.
