Ratings: ‘Private Practice’ plummets; ‘Last Man Standing’ up

With there being a number of season finales airing across the board on Sunday night, it should not come as much of a surprise at all that some shows rose to the occasion in the ratings — while others with another episode or two left in the can saw some significant drops.

NBC – In a new timeslot, “Fashion Star” fell to a new series low with a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic. However, “The Voice” had its two-hour finale, and it was enough to win the night easily with a 4.3 rating along with over 11 million viewers.

ABC – The finale for “Last Man Standing” recovered a bit from last week’s season low in scoring a 1.7 rating; in turn, this helped “Cougar Town” recover from its own low and rise two-tenths to a 1.5. The “Dancing with the Stars” results show was steady with its 2.3 rating, while “Private Practice” plummeted due to “The Voice” and scored just a 1.5.

CBS – The good news? The season (and possibly series) finale for “Unforgettable” drew a 2.0 rating. The bad news? For the first time we can remember, “NCIS” dropped to a point (with a 3.0) where it was actually tied with its “Los Angeles” spin-off in the demo.

Fox – “Glee” recovered a bit from last week, as it rose up to a 2.6 rating. The finale for “New Girl” also managed to rise up to a 2.8 — its highest rating in a few weeks.

The CW – Despite all of the competition, “90210” stayed steady with a 0.6; meanwhile, “The L.A. Complex” retained its dud status with a 0.3. Then again, it looks like the network will at least let the show finish its run.
