In continuing our tradition of having some spoiler dish for “The Vampire Diaries” every day leading up to the season 3 finale, we now have a rather cryptic message courtesy of one of the show’s executive producers.
Speaking to E! News, Julie Plec confirmed that the goal for the season-ender is not to try and rewrite history via flashbacks when it comes to what happened during with Elena’s accident; however, we wound find out some more information about the past of Nina Dobrev’s character that could be useful in the present:
“[The finale] is not about peeling back a layer of the mythology onion … We will actually get a little flash of something else that happened during that time that we never even really considered.”
There has been no better of a definition of “cryptic tease” than this, as this “flash of something” could mean anything from character relationships to possibilities of vampire interaction in Mystic Falls that no one really knew about beforehand. The one important thing worth noting is that both Elena and Jeremy will have major roles this week, and in the present Elena is going to look at her past when trying to determine how she wants to live her life (and who she wants to live it with) moving forward.
Check back after the episode Thursday night for a full reaction on what happens. Is there anything in particular that you are expecting to see?
