After all, GQ was a parody of Star Trek. If they play this too dramatic, Star Trek fans would just wonder why the real thing wasn’t revived. Play it too comedic, and it either becomes really bad B-movie-level stuff or just becomes an overly repetitive one-note parody. The concept was best as a movie and should remain as such (although I’d love to see their take on sequels and reboots of sci-fi shows), and leave the TV series to Star Trek.
