‘American Idol’ notes: Haley Reinhart, Stefano Langone, and James Durbin

Coming May 22!

For this Tuesday morning edition of the “American Idol” notes, we are staying pretty firmly within season 10 as we have some news worth sharing in relation to three former stars of the show who are off doing big things.

Snippets for Haley’s “Listen Up!” – Let’s start with the big news — two weeks before its May 22 release, you can now check out some official snippets for Haley Reinhart’s long-awaited debut album over on iTunes.

While we have heard bits and pieces of a good many of these songs already, we will add in here that “Oh My!” featuring B.o.B is a gem, and if you ask us Haley’s marketing people should already be getting ready to prepare this song as her next single. We love “Free,” but this may be even more radio-friendly.

Stefano talks … everything – Stefano Langone is proving that he has no problem with being vocal about pretty much anything related to the show.

Speaking in a new interview on the “Johnjay and Rich Show,” Stefano (who is in the process of promoting his new single “I’m On a Roll” — otherwise known as the best night of the his life) suggested first of all that he and fellow contestant Pia Toscano were more than a little bit “close” during production — though she later ended up dating Mark Ballas. (The rumor now is that Stefano is actually dating Haley.)

Stefano also ended up saying that “Idol” gave everyone in season 10 a pay cut to appear on the tour — a move made after the season 9 tour brought in disappointing sales figures. (Ironically, the season 10 tour did pretty well.)

Durbin “disappointed” over Skylar’s exit – It was at this point last season that James Durbin was eliminated from the competition, but in a new interview with MTV News he is letting his thoughts by known about another subject — his sadness over Skylar Laine going home.

In a new interview with MTV News, Durbin suggested that Skylar may have been one of the best pure performers on the entire show this season:

“I’m disappointed. She was my pick to win … She actually has stage presence. She puts on a show. That’s what I try to do as much as possible, that’s what I evoke, and that’s what inspires me. And that was cool to see for her genre. She loves Miranda [Lambert], and she loves Reba [McEntire] and she loves Jason Aldean, and that’s perfect for her, that’s her audience that she’s aiming at, and that’s the kind of music I could see her making.”
